Log inRosso seam is a special type of toe seam used on socks to make them extra flat and comfortable. The name comes from the Rosso machine – a hand-linking machine where each stitch in the toe of the sock is linked together by hand & sewn. It gives a very thin and even seam across the toes, with no ridges or inner edges.
In cheaper socks, the toe seam is often sewn with a coarse overlock or chain stitch. This creates a small 'bump' on the inside that can be uncomfortable, especially in tight shoes or for people with sensitive feet. The Rosso seam, on the other hand, is almost invisible and barely felt, making the sock much more comfortable to wear.
Socks with rosso stitching are considered to be of higher quality. They are particularly suitable for people with sensitive feet – for example diabetics – or for those who wear tight shoes and want to avoid chafing. In summary, rosso stitching provides a flat, soft and comfortable finish at the toes that improves both comfort and fit. However, there is a finer variant, then you can choose Seamless, which is also available on the website.
